Thierry Halter graduated at the University Louis Pasteur of Strasbourg, France in 2008 with a Master of Plant Molecular and Cellular Biology. During his master thesis, he studied the role of natural endogenous T-DNA of N. tabacum by use of artificial microRNA in Leon Otten's laboratory at the Institute of Plant Molecular Biology of Strasbourg (IBMP). In 2009, Thierry jointed the BRAVISSIMO project in ZMBP of Tübingen, Germany, to identify the role of BAK1 and its interactors during plant defense in Arabidopsis.
