Cécile Vriet graduated at the trinational school ESBS (Strasbourg, France) with an engineering degree in biotechnology in 2006. During her PhD thesis at the John Innes Centre (Norwich, UK), she studied the metabolism of starch in the model legume Lotus japonicus, under the supervision of Dr. Trevor Wang and Professor Alison Smith. In January 2010, Cécile will join the BRAVISSIMO project at CropDesign N.V. (Ghent, Belgium). She will work on identifying genes of the Brassinosteroid pathway important for plant architecture and seed yield in rice.
